One of the more prominent of the smaller sentient species on Arvia (a group including humans, nekojin, inus, goblins, and gnomes), elves average almost a head taller than a human, and have a higher magic affinity. Some would say more intelligent as well, though this may come down to the extensive schooling many elves receive. Not intrinsically antagonistic toward other species, they are frequently perceived as arrogant. Despite this (and perhaps contributing to this), many elves and half-elves have risen to positions of authority, even in predominantly non-elven settlements. Various elven city-states have, from time to time, attempted to impose order on the seemingly chaotic world of Arvia, with the Melandrach Empire being the most notorious example.
