An agricultural city at the confluence of the Cenosea River and Lasi Creek, Nagdyre is the furthest inland city navigable to sea going vessels. Populated primarily by the rodent folk, the city supplies grain, ale, dried noodles, biscuits, and a variety of other agricultural products to the region. Visitors to the city are well advised to sample fresh bread and ale, considered by most to be the finest in the region. Though trade with the city of Arania is scarce since the fall of the Empire as roads and bridges have deteriorated, Nagdyre’s port remains busy. As the rodent folk and their allies the centaurs are herbivores, the sale of meat or livestock is prohibited within the city proper. However, there are exemptions for the port, allowing sea trade to thrive. The city’s walls are noted more for aesthetics and architectural flair than the more defensive fortifications typical of human settlements. Due to the larger physical size of the rodent folk compared with elves or humans, as well as the protective presence of the centaur population, the city and surrounding countryside remain relatively predator-free.
