This tiny, predominantly human settlement exists at the edge of the Tionora harpy flock’s territory. Known as ‘the village’ to its inhabitants, ‘the old fishing village’ to the nearby settlement of Xin, and virtually unknown otherwise, the village is a testament to the quirkiness of Arvian history: a virtually defenseless settlement living in the shadow of one of the world’s most ferocious predators. The exact nature of the agreement the villagers have with the harpies is poorly understood by outsiders, but it is generally thought to revolve around the offering of regular tribute at a stone altar outside the village.
The village is highly self-sufficient, as trade is rare: few outside merchants are willing to risk capture (and probable subsequent consumption) by harpies. Those that do, trade manufactured goods for the low-quality magic gemstones the villagers are able to collect in Willow Creek.
